Marking System: Below is the information about Marking system.
  • +5 marks for each correct answer.
  • -1 mark for each incorrect answer.
  • No penalty for unattempted questions.
  • +5 marks awarded to all candidates for any dropped questions or questions found to be incorrect.
CUET Exam 2025 Important Points
Candidates should also go through the following points regarding CUET 2025 exam pattern:
  • 40 out of 50 questions are to be attempted in all subjects including languages. The duration of the test will be of 45 minutes duration.
  • Except in subjects, i.e., Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer, Science / Informatics Practices, Chemistry, Mathematics / Applied, Mathematics and General Test, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes.
  • Compensatory time for PwBD Candidates of 20 minutes for each hour examination will be given.
  • CUET exam will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject choices.
  • Candidates applying for CUET (UG) will be able to choose a maximum of six subjects out of 63 subjects and languages, including Indian and foreign languages, alongside the General Test.
  • It is advisable for candidates to select at least one language.

As per the notification released by NTA, the exam will be conducted in a hybrid mode (Computer-based Test mode & Pen and paper mode).
Q. How many sections are there in CUET (UG) exam?
CUET is divided into three sections – Languages, Domain-specific and General awareness. However, the language section is divided into two subparts – Section IA: 13 Languages and Section IB: 20 Languages.
Q. Is there a negative marking in CUET 2025 Exam?
Yes, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark in CUET. For every wrong answer, the candidate can lose 1 mark. However, for unattempted questions, there is no negative marking.
Q. How many subjects can I choose from Section II?
Section II is the domain-specific section. The section contains a total of 29 subjects, out of which candidates can choose a maximum of 3-4 subjects.
Q. What type of questions will be asked in CUET 2025?
CUET will contain multiple-choice questions. The difficulty level of the questions is expected to be moderate difficulty level, as the questions will be based on the syllabus of Class 12th.
